Hot on the heels of our Dot v2.0 announcement, v2.1 is here! This update brings some small but mighty new features that will help change the way you use Dot, expanding its usefulness and making it easier and clearer all round.
Universal filtering
First up is our Universal Filter system. Previously, when viewing devices you could filter and search by manufacturer, IP address, MAC address, date ranges and many more. This was great for narrowing down that huge list of devices, but was confined to just that list. We have added a new control at the top right that launches the same filtering, but this time it works site-wide. If you set up the same filters from the drop-down, your whole instance of Dot will now reflect those results, from the dashboard to the vulnerabilities page, and even the topology page.
Colour coded sites
Speaking of the topology page, we now have a great new feature to make this even more useful. We have added an option on the setting page where you can assign colours to your sites! Just scroll down to the sites table and you'll see a coloured circle where you can just click and select whatever colour you feel best represents each site (or just the one you like the best!). This feature shines when you get to the topology page, and you can see each device now has the assigned colour for its site. This really brings to life the relationship between your different sites through their topologies.
Import Metadata
Last but not least, we now have a feature that allows you to import metadata for devices in a CSV format. Simply download the template CSV file, fill it in following the instructions and upload it to Dot. This allows you to enrich Dot with additional asset metadata from alternative sources. This is great for anyone who has valuable information stored in other software or documents, including OT engineering tools.
We're really excited about these new features and hope you have a chance to try them out and let us know what you think! We've got some great new functionality in the works, so it won't be long before you'll hear from us again with more.
